Owner, Landscape ArchitectContact Brian
Brian Koch is a Licensed Landscape Architect and Landscape Contractor, and the President of Terra Ferma Landscapes. Brian grew up on the Peninsula and attended Crystal Springs Uplands High School. After graduating with a Horticulture degree from University of Vermont, Brian returned home and took on an internship at the historic Filoli Estate in Woodside. It was there that his passion for Landscape Design and building a business took root. The company was founded in 1994 and was originally operated out of his parents’ home, using his mom’s station wagon. Brian continued to further his education by completing University of California’s Landscape Architecture Certificate Program.
Upon receiving his Landscape Architect Licensure in 2009, Brian expanded his company to further the growing need for a complete and holistic design and construction service. Serving as a visionary and leader continues to be Brian’s primary role for the company. He is involved in nearly every design project to ensure creativity, cohesiveness, and overall completeness. With a focus on seeing each site and understanding our client’s and stakeholder’s needs, Brian aims to please every customer and deliver an exceptional finished product.
Brian currently resides in San Francisco with his family and serves as a Board of Trustee member for CuriOdyssey (formally known as Coyote Point Museum). He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), California Landscape Contractors Association (CLCA), Bay Friendly Landscape Professionals (BFL), and the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art (ICAA).
