It has been a year since we won Best of Show and eight other awards at the San Francisco Flower and Garden Show. We created a short time lapse video of the construction of our award winning garden. We condensed five days of work into a couple minute video. Special thanks to Saxon Holt for some of the images at the end. Click on the image below to view the video. Although we are not participating as a Garden Creator this year, Brian will be judging for the Garden Creator of 2015 Award. The show opens with a VIP night on March 17th to support the National Wildlife Federation. It will run everyday from March 18th to March 22nd. More info is available at http://sfgardenshow.com/.
Below are a few more images from construction of our garden. We started by placing our “vine orb” in the right spot and built the other elements of the garden install around it. Our masons carefully selected each Syar stone for the stone retaining walls. Brian spent countless hours and late nights hand picking wine vines and tying them to the orb to get the perfect effect. The wine bottle centerpiece was created by grouping seven wine bottles upside down in 5 gal planting containers and filling the voids with concrete. When we arrived at the show room, we set and leveled each group of wine bottles to form a solid paving surface. The spaces between the wine bottles were filled in at the end with crushed glass.
