The landscape of this newly remodeled 100-year-old Presidio home blends traditional design elements with modern amenities. The urban context of this property challenged us to incorporate the sought-after indoor-outdoor lifestyle into a compact space.

This open Atherton landscape harmonizes a Transitional designed home with existing heritage oak trees and a variety of outdoor uses. A sequence of patio spaces flow around the residence featuring a fire table and select bluestone paving.

A strong collaboration with the architects resulted in the success of this Menlo Park project. The organized and seamless indoor and outdoor flow was an over-arching driver to highlight and allow guests and the homeowner to experience daily.

There was considerable thought and pre-planning for this City backyard transformation. The growing family with nearly three teenagers was looking to maximize their backyard space to allow for an active and growing family who enjoys entertaining and cooking.

By working closely with noted architect, Hugh Newell Jacobsen, the design struck a subtle harmony between landscape and dwelling. We carefully selected plant material, including mature olive trees.

With an amazing overlook that frames the San Francisco Bay with natural rolling hills, we developed an outdoor extension of the house’s living space that carefully sustains these special views and manages the structural demands of a hillside project.

This coveted 1,000-square-foot open space is located in a rapidly developing area in San Francisco just two blocks from AT&T Park. It is the home of JAX Vineyard’s year-round outdoor Wine Court and Tasting Room.

We mirrored the refined appearance of the home’s interior throughout the landscape. With sustainability in mind, we blended native grasses in large drifts and selected plants with low water requirements.
